The Development Player League (DPL) is a national, elite-level girls’ soccer league for players in the U13 through U19 age groups. With a mission to develop the player and empower the person, the DPL provides a competitive, standards-driven environment where nothing is given and everything is earned.
Sparta United is proud to compete in the DPL, offering our girls program a clear pathway to the highest levels of youth soccer. The DPL is closely connected to the Girls Academy (GA), the top tier of competitive girls’ soccer in the United States, and serves as a direct bridge for players with aspirations of reaching elite national competition.
The league features high-level regional conference play, national showcase events, and college recruiting opportunities attended by NCAA, NAIA, and junior college coaches — making it a strong platform for players with collegiate ambitions. Unlike some top-tier leagues, DPL players are also allowed to participate in high school soccer, supporting a balanced approach to athletic, academic, and personal development.
